Mechanic
Responsibilities
As a Mechanical Maintenance Technician, you will play a vital role in maintaining and optimizing the reliability of our site’s operations. Working within a multi-disciplinary engineering team, you will be responsible for providing mechanical support to our production department, reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager.
- Perform planned maintenance, inspections, and overhauls of plant equipment and site facilities.
- Comply with site SHE procedures, proactively identify improvement opportunities, and promote a positive safety culture.
- Coordinate with other trades and support functions to complete tasks efficiently.
- Share and develop skills across multiple disciplines to enhance team performance.
- Maintain high housekeeping standards within the workshop and across the site
Requirements
Essential Qualifications and Experience
- HNC/HND in a relevant mechanical engineering discipline (or working towards).
- Experience of working in a Manufacturing environment.
- NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering.
- Time-served mechanical apprenticeship.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer systems.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to undertake certified confined space entry tasks as required
Desirable Experience
- Maintenance of hydraulic, pneumatic, and rotating equipment.
- Working knowledge of computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Familiarity with continuous improvement initiatives such as lean manufacturing or Six Sigma.
