Production Supervisor
Your responsibilities
The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising employees and organizing and monitoring workflow to ensure the production of quality products while maintaining plant efficiencies. The Production Supervisor will focus on the safety and productivity of the team and the quality of the products manufactured.
• Responsible for daily production goals
• Accomplishes production goals by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures
• Provides production information on performance and progress; answer questions and responds to requests for information
• Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all equipment and resources in compliance with established policies and procedures
• Trains, develops, and provides direction to production employees
• Enforces compliance with safety guidelines and company standards
• Supervises union employees and maintains working relationship by following the terms of the collective bargaining agreement while managing expectations of behavior
• Work as a team with production staff in the ownership of equipment reliability, 5S establishment and compliance and budget performance
• Responsible for maintaining established ISO Standards
• Supervises staff who are hazardous waste generators
• Inspects hazardous waste accumulation areas
• Inventories site-generated hazardous waste
• Oversees the packaging and preparation of hazardous waste shipments
• Reviews hazardous waste manifests and the accompanying LDR (Land Disposal Restriction) forms
• Resolves manifest discrepancies
• Assists in waste characterization of site generated waste
• Notifies emergency response personnel, site managers and the HSE department during emergency situations
• Participates in annual hazardous waste and biennial DOT (Department of Transportation) training
• Perform other duties as assigned
Your profile
• Associate Degree or combination of demonstrated relevant education and experience
Preferred Education:
• A Bachelor’s degree in a technical, engineering, or relevant field
• Previous supervisory experience in manufacturing or quality control in a union environment
• Knowledge of logic or process control system and familiarity with lab procedures, including lab testing
