Technology Manager - Automotive
Responsibilities
ELANTAS North America, Inc. is seeking a Technology Manager - Automotive - who will have responsibility for the technology offered to the customers in this market segment and to obtain product approval. This role is based on-site in St. Louis, MO, and requires travel to other US locations. The Position will be accountable for the technology for eMobility which will cover impregnating resins and varnishes, potting compounds, electronic protection and flexible electrical insulating products. Will manage the product portfolio with the Business Line managers and Head of eMobility North America to ensure it meets the strategy of the Business Lines and eMobility.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Business Line Managers and Head of eMobility North America to align product portfolio with strategic goals.
- Ensure portfolio supports both Business Line and global eMobility strategies.
- Engage extensively with customers to identify opportunities for new product development and modifications.
- Lead execution of product testing and production trials at customer sites or with application equipment suppliers.
- Conduct benchmarking of internal and competitor products.
- Drive tactical execution of product plans with OEMs and Tier 1 customers (primarily North America, with potential global scope).
- Partner with R&D, Applications Engineering, Marketing, and Sales to support product training and market messaging.
- Develop and deliver training for sales teams, customers, and distribution partners.
- Create presentations using market/application knowledge and data from Application and R&D departments.
- Present at conferences and trade shows; coordinate with Marketing and event organizers.
- Evaluate market and customer-specific opportunities in partnership with Sales and Technical teams.
- Define and develop new products based on customer requirements, market landscape, and competitive analysis.
- Support product development through the company’s stage gate process in collaboration with R&D and Commercial teams.
- Engage with peers in other regions to stay informed on global eMobility trends relevant to North America.
- Work closely with Commercial, Technology, R&D, Quality, EHS, and other teams to meet product revenue and customer satisfaction goals.
Requirements
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in related discipline (preferably Chemical/Electrical/Business Engineering or other related science) with minimum of 2 yrs industrial experience.
- Good knowledge of polymer chemistry such as unsaturated polyester, polyamide epoxy and polyurethane resins. Also have application experience of these products.
- Have experience of the automotive particularly eMobility applications and application techniques
- Experience with SAP is highly preferred.
- Experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

- Ability to work collaboratively with all relevant internal and external stakeholders in an international business environment.
- Proven ability to use analytical skills and critical thinking to diagnose business issues and incorporate into development or adjustment of marketing plans.

Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to drive a car and fly on a plane, coping with conditions of domestic and international travel.
