Production Planner

Your responsibilities

ELANTAS North America is hiring a dedicated Production Planner to manage and optimize our production schedules. The role is based on-site in Schenectady,  NY.

 

This role involves identifying and prioritizing production requirements, and coordinating the flow of materials, parts, and assemblies to ensure timely and efficient production.

 

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Solves a variety of problems of limited scope and complexity following established polices and procedures relative to scheduling and coordinating the flow of materials and work within or between departments. Compiles and maintains manual and computerized records such as production schedules and material inventory. 
  • Analyzes and adjusts production schedules to meet needs.
  • Confers with department leadership to determine the effect of insufficient labor, part and material shortages on schedules. Coordinates schedule revisions with department leadership.
  • Communicate potential late shipments to Customer Service in a timely manner.
  • Update and maintain master data to ensure proper function of the organizations business system. Investigates and solves problem related to master data issues.
  • Assists Sales and Customer Service to determine the best possible delivery date when requested by the customer. Balancing the constraints of other orders, material supply, work force and resource availability. 
  • Internal Supply Chani manager and Supervisor to help solve more complex issues.

Other duties may include but are not limited to –

Material request, inventory adjustments. Runs Daily production planning downloads, Completes production order confirmations in SAP.

Your profile

Education & Experience:

  • High School diploma required, 
  • Bachelors in supply chain management is a plus.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in production scheduling and processes required.
  • APICS CPIM is preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated experience in scheduling all production areas.
  • Strong skills in both SAP MM and PP Modules.
  • Communicate effectively in written, verbal and electronic forms with internal and external personnel. 
  • Operate standard office equipment and demonstrate competency in the use of standard and specialized software applications.
  • Read and comprehend all types of standard manufacturing documentation.
